Brazilian judo teams preparing together
Teams of the Senior World Championship, Worlds Under 21, Universiade and South American Youth Games meet for integrated training week
The Brazilian judo team presented on Monday, 07, in Pindamonhangaba, São Paulo, for a period of five days of preparatory training for the next competitions of the international calendar. The group consists of four different teams that will represent Brazil at the Budapest (HUN) World Championships 2017, at the Zagreb (CRO) Junior World Championships, at the Universiade in Taipei and at the South American Youth Games in Santiago (CHI). Altogether, the action number 117 people, in total 90 athletes.
"The idea is not only to work with the main team only, but also to foster and develop Brazilian judo as a team that go to the other competitions. Of course the Senior World Championship is our main focus, but we will work in a way Integrated with all the athletes, "explained Fulvio Miyata, coach of the men's senior team.
In addition to the technical training on the mat and physical preparation, the athletes will also undergo several medical evaluations led by the CBJ sports medicine team and also by physiological tests conducted by the Olympic Laboratory team of the Brazilian Olympic Committee (COB).
The program also includes a visit by the president of CBJ, Silvio Acácio Borges, on Tuesday, 08, to greet the judokas and lead the signing of the inauguration of the Commission of Athletes of the Confederation.
The activities will end on Friday, 11, when those invited will be released to return to their respective cities.
The embarkation for the World Championship of Budapest will begin on August 20 in a staggered way from the judoka of the lightest weights, who will be the first to fight.

In addition to these athletes, CBJ called three other judokas to compose the Brazilian team in the unprecedented mixed teams dispute. Eduardo Katsuhiro Barbosa (73kg), Eduardo Bettoni (90kg) and Beatriz Souza ( 78kg) were chosen to compete only in the team event.
