Collapse in Georgian judo, Olympic Champion furious!

Upon returning back to Georgia after unsuccessful European Championships in Tel Aviv, complete first team coaching management resigned from their positions in the Georgian team after the biggest failure of the Georgian judo in history.

This is the first time for Georgia since 1993 (year of first participation after moving out from Soviet Union) that came back home from Europeans without won any single medal.

The President of the Georgian Judo Federation, David Kevkhishvili circulated on the social network with official statement, which says that after the poor results at the Tel Aviv 2018 Europeans the coaching staff off national team were fired.

According to the president of GEO, the new coach will be announced as as candidate in the near future and the national team of the country will start training with full force for the next World Championships.

2004 Athens Olympic Champion Zurab Zviadauri accused David Kevkhishvili for destroying Judo in the country. Zurab Zviadauri and a part of athletes see that correct way to fix current situation is the resignation of the president.

Zviadauri explained. Kevkhishvili acts as an individual and does not ask anybody.

"When David Kevkhishvili came to the head of the federation, he brought his team. We had a great team working together, and he was acting alone. He wanted to resign coach Uznadze, who made the best result in that year. We all stood beside Uznadze and he was not released, but later liberated the team of Uznadze who is now the coach of Turkish team, and brought his friends, including Irakli Tsirekidze, "Zviadauri said.

According to Zviadauri, Kevkhishvili is a bad manager and misappropriated funds.

"Young people are trained in their own hall. A two-year contract has been signed and a man is 80-90 GEL, it is unacceptable. Young people will grow up if they do not have a relationship with the older generation. This is the wrong approach and the wrong wing of funds, "Zviadauri said.

It is worth noting that the Georgian national team has stayed at the European Championship in Tel Aviv. Georgian team was headed by Irakli Tsirekidze.
