Ori Sasson is proud to be part of the Israelian team

Ori Sasson was the hero of the day in this Israelian judo party for three days long. As last contest of this great Grand Prix it was Sasson who finished off with the fourth gold for Israel. Israel won four titles, two silver and one bronze medal to mark the historic season opener.

Sasson: “ The day started very hard against the Ruslan Shakhbazov, we went to golden score, but I took the right tactical decision. Against the Ukrainian Kolesnyk  I won by ippon, then against Ushangi Kokauri I felt I am inside the competition and it was a very positive fight. But in the final it was a crazy atmosphere and it was the best thing to be an animal against Iakiv Khammo.”

“The pressure you can take to a better place, because everybody came to this place to cheer for you, go you can think I am tired, but I choose for the first option. They came for me and I chose the right way. Everything is just in the head. It was an amazing feeling. If you go to golden score, normally you feel tired, but with this crowd it was something unbelievable and I was very happy to have the opportunity to fight for my country in Tel Aviv.”

“I must also say that both the men and the women did a fantastic job. I am happy to take part in this beautiful event. Now I will go to the Grand Slam in Paris, it is actually very important to win, so I will train for it. But first I will celebrate a little but and sleep and then I think about the next goals.”
